WECL preview 2007/2008 BARCELONA

FC Barcelona

‘Més que un club’

Expectations

Playing “Total Football”, Johan Cruyff’s attractive, in your face, strategy, with a lethal mix of talented youngsters and experienced players, this team has set its eyes on the Scudetto. If motivated and in good form, expect the Catalans to be a tough contender to face this season.

Star

Kaka is now the shinning star. The Master Mind of the team. Kaka’s speed with the ball, intelligence and ability to shoot on goal with both feet make him the master of simple yet clinical soccer- with maximum efficiency. He can win a game on his own and he’s only getting better and better every year.

Rising Star

Nani is Barcelona’s new unpolished gem. He’s got speed, technique and a powerful shot. He has made an instant impact in the pre-season and is expected to get more playing time this season, to exhibit his undeniable potential.

Formation (4-5-1)

With such an offensive force, Barcelona will play to control the tempo. The manager doesn’t want to risk an inch and is confident that with highly rated forwards and some patience, the chances will arrive.

The big match

Barcelona feels a key match will be against Real Madrid, a top contender to get the Scudetto. It will be 90 minutes of pure adrenaline rush. Expect to see blood in “El Clasico” this season.

Did you know?

Did you know that Barca obtained half of their current players by way of a draft, making it the most cost efficient team in the CL.
